Jurassic World Toys: Mattel Figures and Sets, and How to Choose

Jurassic World toys come mainly from Mattel, Universal’s global toy licensee for the franchise. The range runs from chunky Imaginext figures for ages 3 and up to Hammond Collection collector figures for ages 8 and up. LEGO makes the building sets. Check the age grade on the box, then match the line to the fan.

Who makes Jurassic World toys?

Jurassic World is a Universal and Amblin property. In March 2024, Mattel and Universal Products and Experiences renewed their licensing deal, according to Licensing International. Mattel stays the global toy licensee for Jurassic World action figures, playsets, roleplay, preschool toys, vehicles, games and plush.

The building sets are separate. LEGO sells a Jurassic Park and Jurassic World theme with vehicles, minifigures and brick-built dinosaurs. Our dinosaur LEGO sets guide covers those.

The newest film tie-in is Jurassic World Rebirth, which NBCUniversal lists as released in theaters on July 2, 2025. Mattel’s store groups a Rebirth line alongside the older ranges.

Which Mattel Jurassic World line fits which fan?

Mattel’s Jurassic World store splits the range into several lines. Names come from Mattel’s own collection page; age grades come from individual product pages where we could open them.

For preschoolers

Fisher-Price’s Imaginext Jurassic World Rebirth Tyrannosaurus Rex (JFJ65) is about 8 inches. It is listed for ages 3 and up, with a button that makes the head lunge. That age grade means it is not meant for children under 3.

For school-age movie fans

The Rebirth line includes a Super Colossal Mosasaurus, a Spinosaurus story pack with two human figures, and a Spinosaurus role-play mask. Masks and role-play pieces pair well with a Halloween outfit; see our dinosaur costumes guide.

For collectors and adult fans

The Hammond Collection is Mattel’s premium line. The Concavenator (HLP36), for example, is built to a 3.75-inch human-figure scale, with about 20 points of articulation and a posable tail. Mattel lists it for ages 8 and older. Hammond figures make a strong birthday or Christmas gift for a teen or grown-up fan who displays figures.

What does the movie get wrong about the dinosaurs?

A short fact makes a toy a better gift. Two favorites differ from their movie versions:

• Velociraptor. The Natural History Museum lists the real animal at about 1.8 m long and 7 kg, found in Mongolia, living 74 to 70 million years ago. It is now thought to have had a fine, feather-like covering.
• Mosasaurus. The National Park Service notes that mosasaurs lived alongside dinosaurs but were marine reptiles, not dinosaurs. They ranged from about 11 to 57 feet long.

What safety labels should Jurassic World toys have?

Many figures come with small accessories, so the age grade on the box matters. The CPSC bans small parts in toys intended for children under 3. Toys with small parts meant for ages 3 to under 6 must carry a choking hazard warning under 16 CFR 1500.19.

How do I buy genuine Jurassic World toys on eBay?

• Look for Mattel or Fisher-Price packaging with the item number, which you can match to Mattel’s own store.
• Buy new and sealed so the age grade and warnings are intact.
• Be wary of unbranded “Jurassic” figures with no maker name on the box.
• Check seller feedback and returns before buying, especially for collector figures.
